Why is one sensor showing an alert for not working while the others are still functioning fine?
If you've received an alert indicating that one of your sensors has stopped working while the others remain functional, it's likely that the battery in that particular sensor has depleted. Here's how you can verify:
- Check Transmission History: Review the transmission history of the sensor in question within the sensor data.
- Assess Signal Strength: Examine the signal strength history to ensure there haven't been any significant fluctuations.
- Review Temperature/Humidity History: Look into the temperature and humidity history to identify any anomalies.
- Look for Gaps in Transmission: Check for gaps in transmission, which could indicate a turned-off gateway.
In this scenario, it appears that the sensor has unfortunately exhausted its battery life. Upon reviewing its measurements from the past two years, you may notice periods during winter where it was exposed to relatively low temperatures, which can impact battery performance.
It's possible that the other sensors experiencing similar issues may also have dead batteries. While it's challenging for us to detect battery depletion before the sensor stops working.
We recommend bringing the sensors closer to the gateway to confirm that they're not transmitting. Alternatively, you can attempt to manually reset the sensors by opening them and pressing a button. If you're able to do so, we can provide a guide to assist you with the process.
Although our product is designed for outdoor use and can withstand varying temperatures, it's important to note that extreme conditions may impact battery life. Despite this, we've had many customers successfully utilize the sensors outdoors.
